Meet our team

Our team of filmmaker writer stunt professional and cinematographer bring creativity and expertise to every project we take on. With years of experience working on productions across the globe, with feature films, documentaries and music videos, adapting to different cultures, styles, and audiences. Each member of our team contributes a unique perspective, shaped by international backgrounds in America, Italy, France, and Sweden, which allows us to approach every production with both a global outlook and a strong sense of local authenticity.

We believe that great films are born from the perfect balance of imagination and precision. That is why we work closely with directors, producers, and partners to ensure every detail is carefully considered—from the earliest stages of script development to the complexities of filming on location. Our writers and directors focus on shaping powerful narratives, while our cinematographers capture the essence of each scene with artistry and technical mastery. Our professional stunt coordinator designs and performs sequences that are not only safe but also visually stunning.

Beyond creative and technical expertise, we also provide essential production support, including casting talent, scouting locations, and coordinating logistics. Whether filming against the dramatic horizons of Öland or in international settings, our goal is always the same: to create productions that are seamless, cinematic, and unforgettable. At Nordic Horizon Productions, every project is more than just a job—it is an opportunity to tell a story that resonates, inspires, and endures.

Varushka Franceschi

Founder . Producer . Filmmaker .Director

Varushka Franceschi is a filmmaker and producer whose work bridges art, politics, and storytelling. Founder of Quantum Surge Media, she has produced and directed numerous award-winning short films, including co-directing When It’s Not Your Time, recognized on the international festival circuit.

The daughter of an American foreign service officer, Varushka grew up across continents, absorbing diverse cultures and artistic traditions. Her mother, an Italian painter and direct descendant of Renaissance master Piero della Francesca, nurtured her artistic temperament from an early age. This global upbringing continues to shape her work — blending poetry, social consciousness, and emotional truth.

After studying at Paris’s renowned L’Ecole Jacques Lecoq and the American University of Paris, she began her career in London as an actress and model, performing in theater and British television, including a BBC Agatha Christie series. Captivated by the creative scope of production, she transitioned behind the camera, working alongside director Krzysztof Zanussi and actors Julian Sands and Ben Gazzara under producer Enzo Peri.

Varushka’s early production work evolved into a passion for cinematic storytelling that merges artistry with impact. Through Quantum Surge Media, she has crafted socially driven campaigns and creative projects that spark dialogue and inspire change. Her media work includes producing The Katie Halper Show on YouTube — a political and cultural platform known for its sharp commentary and humor — where she helped bring complex issues to broader audiences.

Her long-term feature narrative A Crack in Everything — a ten-year passion project — explores the psychological and environmental consequences of fracking, interwoven with themes of human responsibility, loss, and redemption. Still in development, the film represents her commitment to bold, independent cinema rooted in conscience and emotion.

Now based between Sweden and New York, Varushka continues to develop independent films exploring the intersection of art, trauma, and transformation. Her work reflects a lifelong belief in the power of cinema to heal and awaken. For her, filmmaking is not only storytelling but a sacred act: “Art connects us to what is most human. Without it, we lose our memory of who we are.”

Multi-Award Winning Filmmaker · Screenwriter

Alexandre Ottoveggio is a French-Italian multi-award-winning filmmaker whose work bridges European and international cinema. Based in Stockholm, he has built a reputation for creating emotionally charged films that merge striking visual language with human depth.

He began his journey on Hollywood productions in Morocco, where he gained hands-on experience across multiple departments, including casting, lighting, and special effects. Among his early credits was Ridley Scott’s Black Hawk Down, where he worked as an assistant in the second unit special effects team — an experience that shaped his understanding of large-scale filmmaking and technical precision.

After moving to the Hudson Valley in the United States, Alexandre deepened his craft by studying cinematography, photography, and directing. Immersed in the American indie film community, he began writing and directing his own projects, developing a distinctive visual style defined by authenticity and emotional realism. His award-winning short films — including When It’s Not Your Time, Paradise River, and Another Day on Earth — reflect his passion for stories rooted in human struggle and resilience.

Equally active as an actor and stunt performer, Alexandre has appeared in international productions such as Inception by Christopher Nolan and Salmon Fishing in the Yemen by Lasse Hallström. His behind-the-scenes experience in both performance and action choreography has given him a rare understanding of movement, rhythm, and cinematic tension.

In Sweden, Alexandre directed Alien Activity and Fury Man, projects that allowed him to experiment with genre and narrative form, followed by Until Dawn and Last Mile to Paradise, both recognized on the international festival circuit for their originality and strong visual direction. His most recent work, The Zone, a science fiction film shot on the southern coast of Öland, continues his exploration of independent cinema rooted in atmosphere and character.

With over 30 years in cinema, Alexandre also mentors emerging artists through workshops on micro-budget filmmaking, script development, and acting for the camera. Dedicated to empowering new voices in film, he shares the philosophy that guides all his work.“Art is a supreme universe. We need it to guide our society in the right direction. A country with no art is a desert land.”

Jérôme Henry

Stunt Coordinator . Coach . Technical advisor

Jérôme Henry coordinates a multidisciplinary team of stunt professionals specializing in physical, mechanical (car, motorcycle, etc.), and equestrian stunts for television and cinema.

A lifelong student of human potential and a former world-class athlete (and world record holder), he pursued studies in law, criminology, communication, management, cognitive-behavioral psychology, and coaching.

He began his career in the French National Police and later worked as a bodyguard before becoming a criminal personality investigator attached to a Judicial Court during major trials.

In November 1988, while serving in the National Police, stunt coordinator Guy Di Rigo—body double for Dean Martin and Roger Moore (alias James Bond)—introduced him to director John Guillermin, best known for The Towering Inferno (1987) starring Steve McQueen. That meeting led Jérôme to begin his stunt career on the film La Révolution Française, directed by Robert Enrico, Richard Heffron, and John Guillermin.

Jérôme Henry also leads a dedicated team and production structure specializing in the creation, coordination, and supervision of stunt sequences, actor coaching, and physical preparation. His team provides technical advice on police procedures and criminology for crime films and television dramas. Each collaborator brings unique expertise, serving as a consultant within their specific field to ensure the director achieves the desired realism and visual impact.

His background as a high-level athlete—1st-degree black belt in Aikido, self-defense instructor, trainer in professional intervention techniques (arrest and extraction of dangerous individuals) for law enforcement, as well as aerobics and Tae Bo instructor, and Guinness World Record holder for push-ups—has continually strengthened his mastery of physical performance and precision.

In July 2024, he published his first book, Resilience: Finally Free…, in which he shares his years of experience in personal development and coaching.
